A spectrum of styles comes together in Ahmedabad exhibition

A wide spectrum of Indian art came together in Ahmedabad as Vibrant Hues unfolded over ten days, drawing viewers into a space shaped by contrast, memory and experimentation. Set against the city’s layered cultural landscape, the exhibition reflected both continuity and change across generations of artists.

Paintings, works on paper and sculptures filled the space, moving between introspective and darker themes, satire, and formal experimentation. The works revealed distinct visual languages, inviting viewers to slow down and engage with ideas, emotion and form.

Curated by Kiran K. Mohan, the exhibition brought together Masters, senior contemporary artists and emerging voices, creating a dialogue across mediums and artistic temperaments. The result was a layered experience that encouraged observation and reflection rather than spectacle.

The exhibition opened in the presence of Madhu Banthia, Chairperson of FICCI FLO, who attended as the chief guest.

Participating artists included Achuthan Kudallur, Akkitham Narayanan, A. Rajeswara Rao, Bhupen Khakhar, F. N. Souza, Ganesh Haloi, G. Reghu, Haren Thakur, Hemavathy Guha, Himnti Sen, Jamini Roy, Jagdish Swaminathan, Jaya Ganguly, Jeram Patel, Jogen Chowdhury, Kavin Mehta, K. G. Subramanyan, Mainaz Bano, Mukhtar Ahmed, Sardar Sailoz Mookherjea, Prabhakar Kolte, P. R. Daroz, Ram Kumar, Rekha Hebbar Rao, Nandalal Bose and Sohan Qadri.

Vibrant Hues was held from December 12 to 21, 2025, at the Urmila Kailash Black Box in Navrangpura, Ahmedabad.
