The fifth edition of Genesis Foundation's annual fundraiser, Kasauli Rhythm & Blues Festival, concluded yesterday (March 27), with more than 500 music lovers grooving to the tunes of performances ranging from rock and jazz to blues and Hindustani classical. To add to the excitement to the three-day musical extravaganza,
Dia Mirza, also the ambassador of Genesis Foundation, attended the festival, held at Baikunth Resorts, Kasauli.
A source says, "On Day 1, Frisky Pints and Tabla Maestro & Sultan of Strings (Feat Ustaad Fazal Qureshi, Ravi Iyer with special guest Pt. Ravi Chary on Sitar) unleashed a powerful combination of percussion, guitar and sitar. Mihir Joshi Band had the guests on their feet and dancing. Finally,
Shilpa Rao headlined the day with some of the most popular Bollywood numbers. On Day 2, Kanchan Daniel & The Beards, The Local Train, Vibe Live and Lesle Lewis took the stage by storm."
Salman Khan shares Leslie Lewis composition to wish his daughter Dia, who spoke on the occasion, urged everyone to do their bit for the cause. She also gave the audience some tips on how they can take small steps to make a big impact for the Foundation's cause. She says, "The fact that there are so many of us here is because we care, but it is important that we find more such people who care. There are so many children waiting to be supported, but don't get overwhelmed. Just do your bit and give back. Kasauli Rhythm & Blues Festival is a celebration of music and of the fact that we are all connected and our lives are connected as we come together to make a difference in someone else's life. It gives us all an incredible sense of purpose, incredible sense of well being and incredible sense of love and joy.'
