Rapper Chino XL's family reveals the REAL reason behind his tragic demise

For months, there was suspense around the cause of his demise, but now finally his family has broken their silence over the matter. In a statement given to PEOPLE, the family said, "It has been the most painful and personal experience of our lives. But in honor of Suicide Awareness Month, we decided to share this truth." It took a lot of courage, but the family confessed that the rapper committed suicide. According to the reports, the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s office stated asphyxia resulting from ligature hanging as the official cause of death.The statement also mentioned that the rapper was diagnosed with congenital heart failure in 2020 and stage 4 prostate cancer. The family also stated that the music icon had been going through depression for years now. Despite his struggle with depression, he never failed to inspire people around him. "Our father was our rock and our best friend. Papa Bear loved us and taught us so much," said, Chino XL’s daughter in the statement.There are many followers of the artist who via different sources admitted that Chino was a source of motivation for them. As per the words of his daughter Keith Barbosa, her father made sure to help as many people as possible. Who so ever he met in his life span, was encouraged and comforted by the artist. Amid the news of his demise, one of his unreleased albums was leaked by an unidentified person, who claims to have worked with the late artist. According to his family, the respective album was scheduled to be released in December and the rapper wanted to use a significant amount earned via this music piece for donation. Thus, legal action has been taken against the person responsible for the unauthorized release.
