beijing: a super moon-cake weighing 3.934 tonnes, the largest ever made in the world, has appeared in nanning, capital of south china's guangxi zhuang autonomous region. the king-sized cake, 485 centimetre in diameter and 18 centimetre in height, is believed to be the largest moon-cake ever made, xinhua news agency reported. the moon-cake, decorated with illustrations of the flourishing life of the chinese people in the new century, is now available for taste tests at the entrance of a local supermarket.
moon-cakes are a traditional item for chinese people during the mid-autumn festival, which marks the end of the harvest season.
