‘The Housemaid’ star Sydney Sweeney addresses political leaning comments: ‘I’m not here to speak on politics’
‘The Housemaid’ star Sydney Sweeney recently addressed some of the political remarks that many netizens have been sharing online about her. During one of her latest interviews, the star officially addressed the comments that have been commenting on her political leanings.
Sweeny added, “I've never been here to talk about politics. I’ve always been here to make art, so this is just not a conversation I want to be at the forefront of. And I think because of that, people want to take it even further and use me as their own pawn. But it's somebody else assigning something to me, and I can’t control that.”
Sweeny further commented about how she does not like to address these types of comments and issues online. She cited that there is never any winning in such matters and that she has realized that there is no point in addressing them, as someone will always be there to call her out on that as well.
This is not the first political controversy that Sweeny has been a part of. While talking to Cosmopolitan, Sweeny addressed a controversial topic. When the host asked what she thought about the comments that label her as “MAGA Barbie”, the star revealed that she has always been in this business to make art.Sweeny added, “I've never been here to talk about politics. I’ve always been here to make art, so this is just not a conversation I want to be at the forefront of. And I think because of that, people want to take it even further and use me as their own pawn.
