Suraj Sharma, best known for his breakout performance in 'Life of Pi', has been cast in the upcoming film 'Days With Dandekar', which also stars
Iqbal Theba. Theba is widely recognised for his SAG Award-winning role as Principal Figgins in the popular TV series Glee. The film is written and directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Leena Pendharkar.
The story and Leena Pendharkar’s vision
Days With Dandekar follows R.K. Dandekar, portrayed by Iqbal Theba, a man whose life is upended after he loses a job he has held for more than 35 years. Struggling to adjust to this sudden change, he becomes determined to recover his beloved 1989 Volvo, which his well-meaning but misguided family has traded away. What begins as a straightforward mission gradually transforms into a deeper journey of self-discovery. Along the way, Dandekar encounters various people who help him redefine his identity beyond his career.
Director Leena Pendharkar has drawn inspiration from her father’s life after retirement, as well as from the brief yet meaningful connections people form in everyday life. This personal influence shapes the emotional core of the film.
A strong and diverse ensemble cast
Alongside Suraj Sharma and Iqbal Theba, the film also features Film Independent Spirit Award nominee Summer Bishil and Ranjita Chakravarty in key roles. The ensemble cast further includes Sam Jaeger,
Gillian Vigman, David Lengel, Eric Allan Kramer, Omi Vaidya, David Clennon, and Caitlin Carmichael.

Suraj Sharma was recently seen in This Tempting Madness and will next appear in the upcoming season of The Night Agent.
