Jamie Dornan's hilarious horse kiss mishap; his lips absolutely 'blew up' due to severe allergy

Jamie Dornan recently shared a humorous anecdote on The Graham Norton Show about a regrettable encounter with a horse due to his severe allergy to the animal. The actor recounted a situation from a few years ago when, despite being highly allergic, he had to spend an entire movie riding a horse for his character, Count Axel Fersen.


Dornan explained that he like them as a species, he just can't get close... his character pretty much has to spend the whole movie on a horse, and he forgot he hadn't been around horses for a long time. During the shoot, he experienced severe itching, and his face broke out in hives. The situation escalated to the point where he required EpiPens, and there were concerns about insuring him for the movie due to his allergic reaction. Dornan humorously added, "So if you see me on a horse, I'm very heavily medicated."

Despite his allergy, Jamie Dornan found himself working with horses again in the 2012 historical drama New Worlds. On the final day of shooting, feeling a sense of camaraderie with the horse, he decided to give it a kiss. However, this well-intentioned gesture resulted in his lips swelling up, leading to a halt in filming for the day.

Jamie Dornan, known for his roles in various films and series, was last seen in the Netflix thriller Heart of Stone and is set to appear in season 1 of The Tourist, scheduled to be released on Netflix on February 1, 2024.
