Milly Alcock may soon be trading her dragons for a cape!
The break-out star of the hit 'House of the Dragon' series, is reportedly in talks to take flight in the DCEU as the next Supergirl. Rumours are rife that casting activities are on in full swing, with studio bosses eyeing potential candidates for the role.
Reports on Deadline state that the list of actors set to screen-test for Supergirl includes Milly Alcock,
Emilia Jones, and Meg Donnelly. While there is a possibility that one of these actresses may receive a direct offer for the role, the current plan is to conduct screen tests "within the next month or so."
Notably, the involvement of
James Gunn in the casting process has been rumored, with the character expected to make an appearance in another DCU project before headlining her own solo film, 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow'. The acclaimed director is reportedly taking a hands-on approach to ensure the right fit for the iconic superheroine.
Furthermore, reports state that discussions are on with studio bosses to find the right director for the film adaption of Tom King's acclaimed work.
The forthcoming addition to the DCU will be a jaded character. unlike Superman, who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents, Supergirl was raised on a chunk of Krypton and watched everyone around her perish in some terrible way.
Notably, Supergirl is poised to make her debut not only in the anticipated solo film but also in an upcoming non-Supergirl project, further expanding her presence within the DCU.
Milly, who is a current fan-favourite, previously had fans rooting to see her as Marvel's Gwen Stacy or Spider-Woman in an upcoming Spider-Man film.
