‘Buck Rogers’ star Gil Gerard passes away at 82 from cancer, leaves final statement before his demise: ‘My life has been an amazing journey’
Veteran star Gil Gerard passed away on the morning of December 17 at the age of 82. He was best known for his role in the 1979–81 series ‘Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.’ His wife shared an online social media post about him, announcing the actor’s passing.
She shared in her post that, “From the moment when we knew something was wrong to his death this morning was only days. No matter how many years I got to spend with him, it would have ever been enough. Hold the ones you have tightly and love them fiercely.” She further revealed that the actor had passed away while receiving care at a hospice centre for his cancer.

Janet Gerard also shared a few remarks from the actor himself in her social media post, leaving fans of the star emotional. The statement shared by the actor read, “My life has been an amazing journey. The opportunities I’ve had, the people I’ve met, and the love I have given and received have made my 82 years on the planet deeply satisfying. My journey has taken me from Arkansas to New York to Los Angeles, and finally, to my home in North Georgia with my amazing wife, Janet, of 18 years. It’s been a great ride, but inevitably one that comes to a close as mine has.”
He also gave netizens advice in his last post, and cited that none should spend and waste any time on things that they do not enjoy doing. “See you out somewhere in the cosmos,” he concluded.
