Amber-Johnny, Hrithik-Kangana, Britney-Jason: Meet the most controversial ex-couples

In recent times, several celebrity ex-couples have hit headlines for their controversial relationships. Amber and Johnny Depp locked horns in a fiery legal battle while Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander trespassed on her wedding venue. In Bollywood, we’ve witnessed battles of controversial exes like Preity Zinta-Ness Wadia and Hrithik Roshan-Kangana Ranaut. Take a look at the most controversial exes:

After years of romance and a glamorous wedding, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s wedding was cut short at 15 months. The couple’s separation was finalized in 2016 with Heard reportedly getting $7 million from the settlement. However, things turned ugly for these exes, as years later Amber penned an op-ed describing herself as a victim of domestic abuse. The 2018 article did not mention Johnny Depp or another abuser’s name. However, Johnny filed a defamation suit against his ex-wife, leading to months of harsh accusations and shocking revelations. Recently, the matter ended in Johnny’s favour and the actress was asked to pay damages to her ex-husband.

After Kangana cryptically referred to Hrithik as her ‘silly ex’ in 2016, Hrithik Roshan took to Twitter to clarify that there were more chances of him having hand ‘an affair with the Pope’ than with anyone he was being lined up with (read Kangana). Soon after a whole lot of allegations and counter allegations followed from both the parties. Kangana claimed to have sent Hrithik over 1400 emails, but the actor refuted the same stating that Kangana was interacting with an imposter and not him. Mumbai’s cyber cell later closed the case citing lack of evidence but by then, this controversy had blown out of proportion.

Britney Spears’ wedding with Sam Asghari took a dramatic turn when her former husband Jason Alexander gate crashed the venue. Alexander started an Instagram live when he landed at the wedding site and to the security that he was invited by Spears. He went on to say, “She's my first wife, my only wife.” Britney Spears and Alexander are childhood friends and their marriage had lasted only 55 hours. Soon after this incident, Jason Alexander was arrested after officers noticed he had a warrant for his arrest in another county.

They flaunted their love all over the cricket stands, but their romance was a rather bitter battle of the exes. Years after Preity and Ness Wadia’s relationship had ended, the Bollywood actress filed a complaint against her ex-boyfriend. In 2014, Preity had alleged that the industrialist had molested her and hurled abuses at her during a match at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium. Ness had reportedly denied the charges. In 2018, the Bombay High Court cancelled the molestation case, after Preity withdrew after Ness apologised to her and also submitted an affidavit to that effect.
