Asha Bhosle is best known as a playback singer in Hindi cinema. She started her career in 1943 and has a career spanning over six decades. Since then she has sung songs in over thousands of Bollywood movies. Bhosle is the sister of popular playback singer Lata Mangeshkar. Ashaji has sung film songs, pop, ghazals, bhajans, traditional Indian classical music, folk songs, qawwalis and Rabindra Sangeets.
