Once mainly known for its item songs, Bhojpuri cinemas is now getting more popular all over the country. Now, the movies have been watched even the places where the Bhojpuri language is not majorly used. From the growing the popularity of Bhojpuri cinema, many Bhojpuri actors are also getting more recognition. In recent years, many Bhojpuri filmmakers have come up with a new concept of giving a social cause through their films and have achieved a great response from the fans. Here is the list of Bhojpuri movies which achieved great success in the year 2018 which garnered immense love from the audience.

Bhojpuri film ‘Dulhin Ganga Paar Ke’ was an action-family-drama film starring Khesari Lal Yadav and Kajal Raghwani in the lead roles. The film narrates the struggles of a man to live a happy life which was played by Khesari. The movie also marked Khesari Lal Yadav’s daughter Kriti Yadav’s debut in Bhojpuri film industry. In the movie, well-known Bhojpuri actress Amrapali Dubey has also made a special appearance in the song ‘Marad Abhi Baccha Ba’. ‘Dulhin Ganga Paar Ke’ was directed by Aslam Sheikh and produced by Arvind Anand.

The patriotic film ‘Border’ was released on Eid 2018 all over India and received great response from the Bhojpuri audience. The movie was recorded as a blockbuster and crossed over 10 million views on the internet in just 5 days. ‘Border’ features huge star cast such as Dinesh Lal Yadav, Aamrapali Dubey, Pravesh Lal Yadav, Aditya Ozha, Vishal Singh, Vikrant Singh Rajput, Shubhi Sharma, Awadhesh Mishra, Richa Dixit, Kajal Yadav, Sanjay Pandey, Sushil Singh, and Maya Yadav. The movie was written and directed by Santosh Mishra and produced by Pravesh Lal Yadav.

Ravi Kishan and Anjana Singh starrer ‘Sanki Daroga’ was based on the burning issue of rape and crimes committed against women in India. In the movie, Ravi played the role of an officer Raghuraj Pratap Singh where Anjana played his lady love. The film was helmed by Saif Kidwai and produced by the actor himself - Ravi Kishan. The film released in Bihar and Jharkhand on 7 September 2018 and hit the big screens of Mumbai and Gujarat on 14 September 2018.

Bhojpuri patriotic film ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ stars singer-actor Pawan Singh, Madhu Sharma and Akshara Singh in pivotal roles. In the film, Pawan played the role of a warrior who fights for his motherland. The movie was directed by Aslam Sheikh and jointly produced by Abhay Sinha and Samir Aftab. The film was released on 10 August 2018 in Bihar, Jharkhand and Nepal theatres. On 17 August 2018 the movie released in Mumbai and Gujarati theatres.

‘Nirahua Hindustani 3’ is an action-romantic-comedy and the third installment of the ‘Nirahua Hindustani’ franchise. The movie features Dinesh Lal Yadav, Amrapali Dubey, Shubhi Sharma, Sanjay Pandey, Kiran Yadav, Samarth Chaturvedi, and Rajveer Singh. The film was directed by Manjul Thakur and produced by Pravesh Lal Yadav. The song ‘Chicken Biryani Champa Ki Jawani’ was a chartbuster and was immensely loved by the audience.

One of the hit on-screen pairs of Bhojpuri cinema, Khesari Lal Yadav and Kajal Raghwani starrer ‘Sangharsh’ definitely comes under the list of hit films of 2018. The movie highlights women empowerment and supports Indian slogan ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’.
