Akshara Singh supports Pawan Singh's wife Jyoti Singh in alimony battle: ‘Even Rs 100 crore may not be enough’
Bhojpuri actress Akshara Singh has come out in support of Jyoti Singh amid her ongoing legal dispute with Bhojpuri actor-politician Pawan Singh.
Akshara, who was previously in a relationship with Pawan, said Jyoti’s demand for alimony is completely valid and that society should ensure divorced women receive financial security without any cap.
“Whenever a girl gets married and goes with someone, it becomes his responsibility. At the same time, it is her right to take her alimony, and she should receive it fully,” Akshara told IANS.
She added firmly, “Definitely, it should be given, whether she asks for Rs 10 crore, Rs 20 crore, or even Rs 100 crore, it may still not be enough.”
According to court filings reported in the media, Jyoti has stated that she does not have an independent source of income sufficient to maintain a lifestyle comparable to that of her husband. She has also alleged emotional distress, marital discord and abandonment, claiming the marriage broke down due to circumstances beyond her control.
On these grounds, she has sought both interim and permanent alimony to cover living expenses, legal costs and future security.
As the case remains sub judice, the final decision on alimony will depend on the court’s assessment of income, liabilities and evidence presented. No final order has been passed so far.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
