#TeachersDayFlashback: My parents have been my teachers since childhood: Gabu
Teachers are not just educators; they are guides who help you discover your true calling and help you set your sights straight. And in many of our lives, our first teachers have always been our parents. It was similar for the Lakkhichhara drummer Gabu, as he learnt the basics of music from his late father, the iconic Gautam Chattopadhyay. On Teacher’s Day today, Gabu talks about his parents and how they influenced his career.

Gabu with his late father Gautam Chattopadhyay

“My father, the late Gautam Chatterjee, and my mother Minoti Chatterjee, have influenced me the most. They have been my teachers since my childhood. They taught me about life, discipline, music, dreams and how to achieve them. After my father passed away, my mother made sure that I never gave up on my dreams. They have been my life’s first teachers and today whatever l am is all because of them,” said Gabu.
