Musician Jubin Mitra doesn’t let the pandemic put a stop to his creativity
Jubin Mitra, the young musician from Kolkata, is relentlessly working to bridge the gap between music and dance, bringing it under one roof through his art house.
Being a concept developer, editor, singer, songwriter, music composer and director, the promising talent has already worked with many popular artists like Gourab Sarkar, Gurujeet Singh, Mandira Karmakar, Ananya Chakraborty, Rishita Saha, Tanmoy Biswas, Mallar Karmakar and others for some unique concepts and compositions. The most highlighted projects include ‘Ayub Bachchu Instrumental’ and ‘Meghe Meghe Unplugged’ which enjoyed huge success in Bangladesh.
Some of his regional musical and conceptual hits like ‘Megh Boleche Jabo Jabo Instrumental’, ‘Shadows of the dark’, ‘Dekha Hok Abar’ have created a unique domain.
Like several other singers, composers and musicians, the young musician tried to make the most of the time he spent at home during the pandemic. So many musicians tried to create more and work more despite the pandemic and Jubin is no exception.
Speaking about how he handled the pandemic stress and focused on his creative works, Jubin says, “Whenever I am going through tough times the only thing I do is keeping faith and honesty towards my work. That’s how I get over any bad phase or crisis and it has been my success mantra for years.”
He made headlines last year with a release of around eleven original compositions among which Bolo Dugga Maiki - Durga Pujo song, Meghe Meghe Unplugged, A Vein of Hope, Ghum Aschena, Tum Mile- A Hindi Romantic Song were lapped up by music aficionados.
Interestingly, for the very first time his initiative, a musical tribute to the legendary Uday Shankar and Amala Shankar, Divine Emotion Instrumental, had created a buzz among the dancing fraternity.
“I had always been clear about one thing - that everything is a design and each has its own way to capture and translate. Though I had no formal training in music my learning from Uday Shankar Dance form under the guidance of my Guru Mamata Shankar helped me replicate the thoughts while making interesting and dynamic works. I have quite a few interesting projects lined up with musicians around the world and I am looking forward to these projects,” shared the young musician.
