Kaya will soon be travelling to
Rajasthan for a one-of-its-kind programme on
Swami Vivekananda. Organised by IQF and
Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama
— Khetri, the event, Vivek Chintan, will be celebrated on February 3. Khetri, it’s said, played an important role in Swami Vivekananda’s life. At one point in time, he came to Khetri and met Maharaja Ajit Singh.
Ajit Singh became a close friend and disciple of Swami Vivekananda, who lent him monetary support and encouraged him to speak at the Parliament of the World’s Religions at
Chicago
in 1893. This year’s programme demanded a versatile artistic group and the organisers promptly got in touch with them. “It’s an honour,” said Arindom of Kaya. The band will be performing Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda’s devotional songs in Hindi on this occasion.
