Hriti Tikadar’s latest release, ‘Prabhu Amar’, is getting rave reviews and the singer can’t tank enough the audience. Soulfully rendered by Hriti, the Rabindra Sangeet has been redesigned musically by songwriter, composer and playback singer, Shovan Ganguly. The song has already been lapped by music lovers.
“One morning, I casually sang and posted this song on my social handle.
Much to my surprise Jonaidi called me from New York and expressed keen interest in recording this Rabindrasangeet. And this is how the journey with ‘Prabhu Amar’ began. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Shovanda who beautifully rearranged one of my favorite Tagore songs ,” an excited Hriti who also features in the video with the very talented Odissi soloist Monami Nandy shared.
Jonai Singh from JSE Music who released the song said, “Sometimes it may be hard to find composers, many of whom are true traditionalists to be open to experimenting with a Tagore song; let alone giving a new voice a chance at a Tagore song. I thank Shovan for embracing this musical project. We are hoping our #tagorelove series will strike a chord with all, especially the younger generation.
Meanwhile, Shovan Ganguly is also happy to see the overwhelming response," It's one of my most favourite Tagore songs. Hriti has offered highly a soulful rendition. I have tried my best on musical arrangements with some of the best musicians from Kolkata."
Creative director Jonai Singh has also assured that they will continue recording various Tagore songs in the voices of upcoming talents and young artists.
