Connoisseurs of classical music in Kolkata were in for a treat as they gathered at a city auditorium on Monday for Ananda Sandhya, an evening of Indian classical music. The event, organized by tabla player Anirban Roy Chowdhury, in memory of his father, Late Akhil Roy Chowdhury saw the likes of Haimanti Shukla, Pt Subhankar Banerjee, Sabir Khan and Partho Sarathy in performance.
The evening also marked the opening of an organization for autistic children in Kolkata. “The event was organized for a good cause and I really enjoyed playing at the do,” said tabla virtuoso Subhankar.
