City-based band The Soul Train all set to enthral audience
A new music band in the city, Soul Train, was recently launched in the city. The band had a gala inaugural event, which was attended by folk band Fakira’s lead singer Timir Biswas, noted music composer Devjit Roy, musician Mallika Ghosh and singer Riddhi Bandyopadhyay. The launch ceremony was organised by Shyam Sarkar. Band Soul Train specialises in soulful melody driven songs.

The band’s present lineup includes Aisani Bose (vocals), Aniruddha De (guitar), Atriya Dasgupta (drums and percussions), Baishali Bagchi (backing vocals and hand percussions), Samriddha Ganguly (vocals and guitar) and Utsab Talukdar (bass guitar). Performing in both electric and acoustic set ups, The Soul Train focuses on fusing Indian folk music with multilingual music, adding their own compositions along the way. Samriddha, a band member, said, "We are trying to concentrate in creating soulful songs There will be fusion between folk and popular music genres too."
