Debut in Oriya film

Subhashree made her film debut in the Oriya industry with 2008 film ‘Mate Ta Love Helare’. Touted to be a loose remake of Telugu film ‘Student No. 1’, it was an action comedy directed by Ashok Pati. Her flawless natural acting quickly caught the eye of many Bengali filmmakers and producers and rest is history. She is right now one of the highly sought-after actors in Tollywood.

Jeet’s sister in first Bengali film

The actress has romanced superstar Jeet in many hit Bengali films such as ‘Boss’, ‘Game’ and ‘Abhimaan’. But in her first Bengali film ‘Pitribhumi’; Subhashree played the role of his sister. First film as a lead actress

Subhashree made her debut in leading role with ‘Bajimaat’ opposite Soham Chakraborty in 2008 and her innocence as Jhilik became an instant hit. Such was the appreciation that the character earned her the ‘Best Debut in Bengali cinema’ award. The success of ‘Bajimaat gave her the chance to play Dev’s love interest in 2009 superhit ‘Challenge’. It was a remake of Telugu film ‘Bunny’.

Subhashree first worked with her newly married husband Raj Chakraborty on the sets of ‘Abhimaan’ in 2016 and became more than just friends. Since then, they have been hitting headlines for various reasons, especially when rumours were rife about Raj’s involvement with Mimi Chakraborty. In 2017, speculations of Raj and Subhashree’s wedding made rounds for the first time. Her film ‘Nabab’ broke a Bangladeshi box-office record


Her first movie with Bangladeshi hero Shakib Khan, ‘Nabab’, broke all the sales record in the history of Bangladeshi cinema. The 2017 film directed by Jaydeep Mukherjee introduced Subhashree as Shakib Khan’s love interest. Shakib played an intelligence agent from Bangladesh tasked with a secret operation in West Bengal. ‘Nabab’ released across 128 screens in Bangladesh on 26 June 2017 which is the widest release for any Bangladeshi film.
