RITU ON TIME: Not every day does
Rituparna Sengupta turn up before time. She had her own explanation when she stood outside a screen at a south Kolkata plex at a time when guests had just started trickling in. “This is my best friends’ film. Both Shibu (
Shiboprosad Mukherjee) and Nandita Roy are family to me and I had to be here on their special day,” she laughed and said. Posto, produced by Windows, will complete 25 days soon and a special screening was held to kick off the celebrations.
Prosenjit Chatterjee, also dear to the directors, went straight into the theatre on arrival.
ADDA UNLIMITED: Jisshu U Sengupta, Soumitra Chatterjee, Babul Supriyo, Lily Chakraborty were seen indulging in a long adda session, as many from the film industry got busy with the screening. “I have seen the film twice,” said Soumitra, before veering the conversation towards cricket. Both Babul and Jisshu spoke at length about the love of their lives — football and cricket. Jeet, who dropped by to be with the team, was seen chatting with Shiboprosad about movies and more movies.
UNIQUE ASSOCIATION: “It’s a great thing that the film will soon complete 25 days in theatres that are mostly running housefull shows. It is perhaps the highest grosser so far this year,” said presenter of the film, Atanu Raychaudhuri. Vijay Jain, marketing manager, JK Masale, who had come with his family and friends, was truly excited. “Both of us — the film and the brand — have mutually benefited from the association. Our masala and the movie have become an important part of the Bengali life. Personally,
I am a great admirer of the directors’ works and watched both Praktan
and Belaseshe; Posto, I feel, is a must-watch movie.”
SELFIES GALORE: End of the screening, many came out crying from the theatres. But they had a surprise in the form of Posto aka Argha Basu Roy waiting outside. “Did you like me?” he asked around. Parno Mittra, who was clicking endless selfies with the child, said even though he had offered Posto to come home with her, he said no!
