When Cactus turned a year younger

When Cactus turned a year younger
Prep was on for long and when the big daddies of Bangla rock sent out messages to invite friends on their 24th birthday on August 24, there was euphoria all around. Cactus, who sung into adulthood three years back, has managed to hold the attention of the Bengali youth and it was a celebration of that music of GenY.
Obviously then, hordes of youngsters turned up to listen to the band on its birthday.

While Baji, Sudipto, Bumpy, Ratul and Dibyendu got busy with the gig, frontman Sidhu spoke about the difficult times that band music is going through. And Sidhus call for unity among bands didnt go unheard. Among the audience was Rupam of Fossils, with whom Cactus had earlier shared a notorious rivalry. Upal of Chandrabindoo was also present to root for the band and even shared the stage with them after the show drew to a close with Sidhu singing Bhalo theko.
Before that, they churned out all their popular numbers like Holud pakhi, Buddha and Ami sudhu cheyechhi tomaye, among others. Ronodeep Bose, who was present at the venue, said, This is the first time that I heard the new lineup of Cactus and they are mighty good. It was indeed a treat not many are going to
forget in a hurry.
