The first look of Shahebb Chatterjee from the upcoming mystery drama Phool Pishi O Edward dropped today, and it’s already stirring curiosity for more reasons than one. Cast as Jogendra Chandra Nandy — the younger brother of Arjun Chakraborty’s Manindra Chandra Nandy —Shahebb appears in a strikingly elegant, royal avatar that perfectly complements the film’s period intrigue.
But while the costume and bearing exude aristocratic charm, what has truly caught attention is a subtle yet intriguing change: the spelling of his name. From the familiar “Shaheb,” the actor now appears as “Shahebb,” with an extra ‘B’ — a detail that has sparked speculation among fans and industry watchers alike.

Shahebb is no stranger to collaborations with filmmaker duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee. He previously worked with them in Gotro and was also part of Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti, directed by Aritra Mukherjee under the Windows banner. Said Shahebb about his name change, “I started my journey as a professional actor and singer in 2001, and it has been almost 25 years in the industry now. In the early phase of my career, I never really believed in numerology because those concepts were not so widely discussed then. Times have changed, and people are now more open to exploring different belief systems. Since childhood, I had some connection with astrology because my mother was a strong believer in it. A few days ago, after meeting an old friend, I began thinking seriously about numerology. Following his advice, I made a slight change in the spelling of my name and started writing it as ‘Shahebb Chattopadhyay.’ For me, the biggest impact was psychological—it strengthened my faith and created a more positive mindset. Soon after, I noticed that many projects that had been stuck for a long time started moving forward, films that were pending began releasing, and new opportunities started opening up.”

With his refined look, a curious name change, and a role shrouded in secrecy, Shahebb's presence in Phool Pishi O Edward has undoubtedly become one of the talking points of the film’s early promotions.
