Tolly beauties meet Ma after marriage
A host of celebs got married in the recent past and this was their first Durga Puja after marriage. While some had great company, others had to drag their husbands to accompany them to pandals. And from taking part in Shindoor Khela and thakur boron to pandal-hopping and dancing on the streets, they shared their Puja experience with us.
SUBHASHREE GANGULY
This is my best Puja till date.
1x1 polls
My mother-in-law kept telling everyone, “Amar bouma Ma Durgar moton!” Till last year, other than inaugurations, judging and offering anjali on Ashtami,I hardly used to go out during Pujas. But this year, it was different. From attending functions at our complex to being part of sandhya arati and dhunuchi naach, I took part in every ritual as Raj (Chakrabarty) loves to be associated with Puja. I have lost count of how many new clothes I got this Puja. Raj gifted me a pink Benarasi which I didn’t get the opportunity to wear. My mother-in-law gifted me a lal-paar sada gorod, which I wore on Dashami for Shindoor Khela along with gold jewellery belonging to her. The most interesting part for me was the thakur boron and Shindoor Khela on Dashami. I was at Joydipda’s (Kundu) house for the Shindoor khela where his wife showed me all the rituals of thakur boron. First Shindoor Khela is always special. I gifted Raj two sets of kurta-pyjama, which he wore on Saptami and Ashtami. This time,I even danced (bhasaner naach) on the streets during bishorjon along with Raj!
PAOLI
My husband (Arjun Deb) gifted me a maroon baluchari which I wore on Shasthi, but he couldn’t get time to wear the panjabi, which I gifted him. My in-laws gifted me two beautiful saris which I wore on Ashtami and Nabami. Smearing red vermillion on each other has a power of its own. From giving alpona and lighting 108 diyas to getting 108 lotuses and organising sandhi pujo, I was actively involved in this year’s Puja. But all the rituals were supervised by my motherin-law through video call.

RIDHIMA
Gaurav gifted me an anarkali set, which I wore on Ashtami and I gifted him a kurta-pyjama set that he wore on the same day when we went for judging. It’s not that I wear only ethnic clothes during Puja, as I am a clumsy person and can’t handle a sari always. Most of the time, we are either coming together for adda at our place or some friend’s place where I prefer to wear casual outfits. So, this time around, my husband gifted me a lot of casual outfits and my in-laws gave me money so that I can shop on my own. More than buying outfits for Puja, we bought several clothes for Kenya, where we are going for a holiday on October 25. I didn’t take part in Shindoor Khela as I am allergic to vermillion. Other than that, I did a lot of pandal-hopping,had bhog and offered anjali, which I do every year.
CHANDRANI
With Dibyendu (Mukherjee) around, it is difficult to go pandal-hopping as he doesn't like crowds. He gave me a handloom sari and his mom gave me a beautiful Dhakai. His logic is, I keep shopping throughout the year! I gave him a panjabi and a denim, which he wore on Ashtami. I wanted to be a part of Shindoor Khela but couldn’t as Dibyendu doesn’t like it. I wanted to put mehendi during Puja, and he said no to that too! So, my first Puja after marriage wasn’t all that special. The only good thing I heard was that I am lucky for him as he got many shows.
