Soumitra Chatterjee tests positive for Covid
Veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee has tested positive for COVID and was admitted to a hospital on Tuesday morning. He was down with fever initially and his test reports confirmed the novel coronavirus on Monday.
Talking about his health, Soumitra’s daughter Poulami Bose told us, “He is stable now. The only symptom that he had was fever. He had a low-grade temperature for two days.

We admitted him to a private hospital on Tuesday after his positive report a day earlier. Right now, his temperature is normal.”
Pradeep Tandon from the hospital said, “At 10.30 am, the actor got admitted to the hospital. Yes, he is COVID positive. We can’t divulge any further details.”
Soumitra was last shooting for Sandip Sarkar’s web series, Next, in the last week of September. After the Bombay High Court had allowed all persons above 65 years of age who work in the entertainment industry to work on a film set, Soumitra shot for Parambrata Chatterjee’s Abhijaan. The actor had told Calcutta Times from the sets, “The virus will be lurking around till there is a vaccine. And that can take months. We can’t stay away from work for that long. After all, it’s a matter of survival.”
