Ritwick shoots where Inception was filmed

Ever since Maacher Jhol's trailer went live, the film has been in the news for all the right reasons. Director Pratim D Gupta is exploring a new concept with the film, which sees Ritwick Chakraborty playing a chef who gives up his lucrative engineering career to follow his passion, only to return to his roots years later to face the challenge of whipping up the perfect maachher jhol.A major portion has been shot in Paris and the director, before leaving for the French capital, browsed the web to search for a vantage point from where the Eiffel Tower could be captured in all its glory.

“I found the Pont de Bir-Hakeim, a bridge that crosses the Seine River in Paris. We were unaware of the fact that Christopher Nolan's Inception was shot there till we landed up on the bridge. It then struck me that it's the place where Leonardo DiCaprio was seen explaining to Ellen Page how dreams work. The spellbinding architecture under the bridge makes it a stunning location,“ said Pratim.Ritwick too is psyched about the link.“The Inception connection makes the experience a sweet one. The fact that even Marlon Brando shot there for Last Tango in Paris, makes it even better! It was very cold the day we shot there and I remember going up and down the bridge several times,“ he said.
