After working in Kolkata for almost two months,
Rituparna Sengupta flew back to Singapore to be with her family. “I had some urgent work in Singapore, so I had to come back. It feels great being home. My husband and children are extremely happy. Yesterday, all of us baked a cake and had a gala dinner at home. I will be back in Kolkata in April as I have to complete shooting for Kabir Lal’s Antardrishti and Ranjan Ghosh’s Mahishasura Mardini.
The major portion of the shoot of both of the films are over but a few important parts are left to be shot,” said the actress.
Rituparna is part of Atanu Bose’s film Achena Uttam, where she plays a character inspired by Suchitra Sen.
Saswata Chatterjee plays the Mayanayak, while Srabanti plays his wife Gouri Debi. “I am a bit nervous playing a character which is inspired by Suchitra Sen. She was an icon. The audience should not compare my character with her as that would be unfair. For Bengalis,
Uttam Kumar was not just a superstar but an emotion. The movie shows the journey of Uttam Kumar — his childhood, the ups and downs in his career and many unknown facets of his life,” said the actress.
