#Rewind2020: Tolly celebs who embraced parenthood during pandemic

Pandemic, lockdown, and COVID-19 – the year 2020 was almost all about these three words. While it became a damp squib for most people, for some, 2020 is the beginning of a new chapter. Your world is never the same when a baby steps into it. Suddenly, despite all those negativity, it makes you feel alive yet again and some of our Bengali celebrities had every reason to cheer as they on to the crazy journey of parenthood. With only a few days left to bid goodbye to 2020, here’s a look back at the Tolly celebrities who embraced parenthood this year.

Actress Koel Mallick and husband Nishpal Singh were blessed with a baby boy on March 5 at a Park Street private hospital. Due to the crisis in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic everybody was tensed about the actor’s health during her pregnancy. However, both mother and the baby boy were doing fine post delivery. Tollywood was greeted with some real good news on February 01 when we all got to know that Koel Mallick and Nispal Singh are expecting their first child this summer. In a social media post, an elated Koel broke the news to the world. On her Instagram handle, the actress wrote, “Through the rolling days of kicks, punches and somersault… the sound of a new life beating inside me. “Like a glistening silver thread woven into the fabric of my life, our child is longingly awaited this summer. (sic)”

Tollywood couple Subhashree Ganguly and Raj Chakraborty werr blessed with a baby boy on September 12 at a Kolkata hospital. They named their baby Yuvaan. As soon as the news broke, celebrities started showing their love on the couple and their new born. The couple shared the photograph of the new born and Internet broke with messages. In the photos, a vibrant and happy Subhrashree was looking at the new born. In another photograph, Raj was seen holding his baby boy.

Actress Ankita Majumder Paul and Soumitra Paul were blessed with a baby girl on September 7. The actress, who was at her in-laws’ place in Guwahati, couldn’t come back to Kolkata for her delivery since she didn’t want to travel amidst the pandemic. Shortly after giving birth to a daughter, the actress shared the good news on social media by sharing a picture of her little hand. Actress and model Ankita got married to Soumitra in 2019. It was a dreamy wedding ceremony arranged in a plush city hotel.

Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma had announced the news of their pregnancy four months after they broke the news of their wedding. After a blissful pregnancy period braving the pandemic, on October 9, Puja and Kunal had embarked on to the crazy journey of parenthood as they welcomed a baby boy into their lives. It was on October 14, when Puja shared the first-ever family picture with her newborn baby from her hospital room.
