Reshmi Mitra making yet another socially relevant film

Reshmi Mitra whose latest offering ‘Lime N Light’ will hit the theatres later this month is making another film ‘Shlilatahanir Pore’ addressing a more serious issue. Based on a novel by Mallika Sengupta, the cast of this socially relevant film includes Rahul Banerjee, Moubani Sorcar, Devlina Kumar and Ishaan Mazumder among others.
Rape has always been a burning issue in our society. The trauma that many of the victims go through and how one rape victim overcomes it forms the crux of the story.
Rahul plays Sanglap in the film. He is a research scholar in English literature and also is a lead singer in a band. Moubani plays the role of his wife. Moubani who plays Subechha in the film said: “The story is quite exemplary and a lot of experienced actors are acting in the film. It is a pleasure to work with them. Though I haven’t read the novel yet, the script I believe has done justice to the novel. It’s a great projection of the novel and the film deals with a very topical issue.”
