The Bong diva has stunned the audience with a wide range of characters over the years. But this time the pretty actress will be seen in a completely different role than the ones she has portrayed thus far.

Her character in Ashish Roy’s upcoming ‘Sitara’ will surely churn out a different actor in her.
Based on Abul Bashar’s popular novel Bhorer Prosuti, it tells the story of a helpless village girl who is dragged into the prostitution. The film was expected to release in January but it then pushed back.
Now, according to source close to the development, ‘Sitara’ is releasing on May 31. Director Ashish Roy is saying the film got pushed back it will release in Tamil and Telugu also.
The plot of ‘Sitara’ is based on the backdrop of India-Bangladesh border and the illegal garments business in the area. The garments from Bangladesh illegally enter India from West Bengal border via Sealdah through many channels and distributed all over the country. Women from rural area are being used to deliver these illegal garments and eventually they are forced to become prostitutes eventually.
Bangladeshi actor F.R. Babu will be seen as Sitara’s husband. South Indian actor M. Nasser, who played Shivgami Devi’s father’s role in Bahubali, plays a mahajan with whom Sitara has a relation. Bollywood actress Meghna Naidu will also be seen as a flesh trade worker.
