Baccha Shoshur

Jeet’s upcoming ‘Baccha Shoshur’ has already grabbed the attention for its fresh and engaging content. Directed by Biswarup Biswas, the upcoming comedy flick’s story and the screenplay is penned by ‘Rosogolla director’ Pavel and he brings a lot of freshness. Along with Jeet in the lead, the film stars Koushani Mukherjee as Jeet’s wife and Chiranjeet Chakraborty as his troublesome father-in-law. The story revolves around three people, a father in law, his son-in-law and grandson. The twist in the story comes when the father in law and his grandson lands in a problem.

Prem Amar 2

‘Prem Amar 2’ is a romantic love saga starring Noor Jahan fame Adrit Roy And Puja Cherry Roy in the lead. The Bidula Bhattacharya directorial also takes the superhit Prem Amar franchise forward. However, it’s a different and fresh story with no connection with the original one. It’s a tragic love story of two neighbors who belong to different cultural backgrounds. Their families are as usual not okay to accept this relationship. The girl somehow accepts it as fate but the boy turns rebellion. What happens next forms the crux of the film.

Tritiya Adhyay

This Manoj Michigan directorial is a romantic thriller releasing on February 8. The film has mostly been shot in Deoghar and the place has an important role to play in ‘Tritiya Adhyay’. The two lead characters Kaushik (Abir Chatterjee) and Shreya (Paoli Dam) are childhood lovers who once lost contact with each other. After a long gap, Kaushik, a sports teacher, meets Shreya, a renowned botanist. The narrative highlights the background of their breakup, reunion and future.

Finally Bhalobasha

Anjan Dutt’s ‘Finally Bhalobasha’ sees three idiosyncratic love stories in one film. The first story revolves around a trapped woman in search of freedom. Raima Sen plays the oppressed woman whose marriage to a business man (played by Arindam Sil) falls apart as the husband regularly beats her up and can go to any extent of anyone comes in their way. Arjun Chakrabarty being his assistant often takes pity on the tortured wife and plans to help her escape the clutches of a brutal husband. The second story sees a dying man in search of a friend in Darjeeling. It has Anirban Bhattacharya playing a young man who dreamed of becoming an actor. However, his ailing health stops him from fulfill his lifelong dream and so he seeks friendship and remorse in the arms of his male nurse Suprobhat Das. The third story follows the journey of a lost girl, played by Sauraseni Maitra, in search of love in Kolkata. Coming from a disturbed family background she finally finds refuge in Anjan Dutt’s house who in his own way appreciates her independent life goals.

Nagarkirtan

Kaushik Ganguly’s ‘Nagarkirtan’ is in the news ever since the middle-of-the-road movie earned young actor Riddhi Sen a national award. The controversial film dealing with LGBT issues was set to released in January next year but now the makers have pushed the release date to February to avoid any box office clash. Interestingly, Srijit Mukherji’s multi-starrer ‘Shah Jahan regency’ will hit the theatres on January 18 and Kaushik Ganguly doesn’t want to be involved in any box office clash. Starring Ritwick Chakraborty and Riddhi Sen in the lead, the film follows two persons from LGBT community who are in a relationship. The story shading light on the taboo of same-sex love has already bagged four National Awards including the best actor award won by Riddhi Sen.

7/8

Bhobishyoter Bhoot

Anik Dutta’s ‘Bhobishyoter Bhoot’ revolves around a group of dejected ghosts. Both the story and characters are brand new. The film sees some of these ghosts take shelter in a refugee camp. In real world they all have been cornered and are confused about where to stay. Virtual world or real world, where would they find a place to live eventually, it’s a mystery! What happens next forms the crux of this film. ‘Bhobishyoter Bhoot’ has an ensemble cast including Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Suman Mukhopadhyay, Sourav Chakraborty, Barun Chanda, Kaushik Sen, Swastika Mukherjee, Moon Moon Sen, Chandreyee Ghosh and many others.

Ahaa Re

After ‘Ekti Cinemar Golpo’, Rituparna Sengupta and Bangladeshi actor Arfin Shuvoo are ready to discover their ultimate true love - the love for food! Ranjan Ghosh floored everyone with his unique story in ‘Rongberonger Korhi’ and now he is back with ‘Aha Re’, a unique love story. “It’s sort of a fairy tale crossover love story. A rich Muslim chef from Dhaka (Arfin) and a middle class Hindu home cook (Rituparna), using their passion for food and culinary arts start a new journey of finding love. They connect through the art of making ordinary ingredients in an extraordinary way. This food movie focuses as much as on love as our tribulations in life,” said director Ranjan Ghosh.
