The actor has been roped in for Seven Days, Tathagata Bhattacherjees latest flick, which would be an urban thriller.Moubani Sorcar is busy with her stint before the camera. This time around, the actor is part of Tathagata Bhattacherjees murder mystery titled, Seven Days. Speaking about the project, the director says, This is an urban thriller, with a cast comprising Moubani, Shaheb, Sreelekha Mitra, Dipankar Dey and Subhashish Mukherjee. The film-maker is the brains behind the story and script too.
He stresses, This is not a remake but an original story. Also, I have roped in a complete Bengali cast and crew for the same.
Ask him why he chose Moubani and he says, Thats because she suited the character.
Moubani, on her part, is excited to have bagged this film. Tathagatada is an old friend. And we always wanted to work together. This film has given me an opportunity to work with him, says the actor, adding, I am good friends with Shaheb too. He is a great actor. I am hoping some of his acting prowess will rub off on me too.
As to why she took up the project, Moubani explains, This is not a run-of-the-mill film. It gives ample scope to the actor to showcase her talent. Also, my role has meat. In fact, the actor considers herself lucky to have earned projects where her character has been pivotal to the plot. Surprisingly, I am being approached for thrillers. Ashish Mitras film is also a thriller. I think directors feel I suit this genre.
Busy as she is with film offers, Moubani however, is contemplating a break, Id now want to be selective about projects as I want to present myself in a qualitative way. I want to leave a serious mark on the mind of my audience. Hence, a short break before I am back with a bang.
Now thats what we call a smart move.
