Meet the brand new Byomkesh!

Koel Mallick and Jisshu U Sengupta-starrer Ghare and Baire is no simple romcom; there’s detective twist to the story. And the detective is played by none other Soumyajit Majumdar. Eloborating on the role, he told us, “Byomkesh Bandopadhyay is a useless private investigator, who is a black mark on the good name of Byomkesh and an embarrassment to the great legacy of Sharadindu Bandopadhyay.” Without filling us in on the details of the storyline, he said the plot has a mystery element, which Byomkesh takes upon himself to solve.“He needs to prove to his father that he is not that useless after all. His dadu, a thriller lover, had named his son after Sharadindu and grandson, after Byomkesh. The name stuck with him and life became an endless struggle,” said Soumyajit, who completed his 24^th film with Mainak Bhaumick’s Ghare and Baire.
