Indrajit Chakravarty will be off to Indonesia to shoot a Bengali film.If last year saw Tollywood going to Italy and Sri Lanka to shoot, Year 2011 will see Bengali movies going to the Far East. Come January 24 and director
Jay Prakash of Market fame will begin shooting a bilingual film in Indonesia. While the Bengali title of the film starring Indrajit Chakravarty and Amitabh Bhattacharya is Murder, the Hindi title is Mad Lover.
Ask Jay Prakash why he wants to make a film in Bengali and the director says, I was born and brought up in Kolkata.
I did my school and college in Kolkata. It was always my dream to make a film in Bengali. Mine is a triangular love story with an obsessed lover. My cast also includes Rituparna Sengupta, Ferdous, Parijat and Vivek Trivedi, among others. There is one comic role for which Id want to Subhashish Mukherjee. As for the Hindi version is concerned, I want to introduce fresh faces.
Music for the film is being composed for Anand-Milind. I wanted to introduce Anand-Milind to Bengali films. Gautam-Sushmit is penning the lyrics for the film.
Anand-Millind, in between, got an offer to compose for another Bengali film. I was okay with them doing it too.
But why did he want to want to shoot in Indonesia of all places? I want to picturize the songs on an island. Indonesia has virgin locations that, I believe, hasnt yet been explored in Tollywood. Ill also be shooting in Singapore and Dubai, the director, who has done movies like Saajan Ki Baahon Mein with Tabu, Raveena Tandon and Rishi Kapoor, Tapish with
Tara Deshpande, Parvin Dabas and Ellora Patnaik and Market with Manisha Koirala,
Suman Ranganathan, Aryan Vaid and Makrand Deshpande, among others. Indrajit, who is now shooting for Riingos System, is excited about shooting abroad. This will be my first visit to Indonesia. Bengali movies are now being shot in exotic locations. Im sure this Indonesia shoot will be an added attraction for my movie, the actor signs off.
