Indraadip Dasgupta is happy being off social media

It was on July 5, when music composer Indraadip Dasgupta decided to sign out from all social media handles, and today he completed five months of being away from it. “One fine morning, I decided that I won’t be a part of any social media platform as it was consuming all my time. Also, I was getting distracted from work. And immediately, I deleted all my accounts.

Many of my friends told me that I shouldn’t have taken this drastic step as social media helps promote work and get assignments. But I don’t believe in that logic. There was no social media when R D Burman, Kishore Kumar and many other stalwarts were there, but still, we celebrate their work today and will do so in the future too. I believe what matters is your talent and what you are delivering to your audience. And trust me, I don’t miss not being on social media at all, rather I am at peace. It's better not to know much about what others are doing and be happy with one’s own work and family,” said Indraadip.
Indraadip’s film, Asadoma Sadgamaya, starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jaya Ahsan, Rudranil Ghosh, and Kanchan Mullick in the lead, was supposed to go on the floors from the end of October. But now, the buzz is that the film has been pushed back further. The film shows how the meaning of life and the equations of all relationships changed during the pandemic. “Jaya couldn't fly from Bangladesh, so we had to postpone the shoot. And this film can't be shot in winter, so we need to wait till March to start the shooting,” he said.
