Goutam to play a mad poet in Srijit's next

Goutam Ghose will be playing the role of a mad poet in Srijit Mukherji���������s ���������22 E Srabon��������� . ���������The role was earlier offered to Anjan Dutt. The character requires an actor who could capture the unrest of the 60s and the 70s and also one whose acting style would have an edginess.That���������s something I found in Goutamda . His last film as an actor was with Anjan Dutt ��������� ���������Grihajuddha���������. I had both these names as options when I wrote this role. Somehow, things didn���������t materialize with Anjanda . I���������m happy that Goutamda is on board,��������� says Srijit. Ghose, on his part, says, ���������I���������m not aware that this role was earlier offered to Anjan. I am happy with the script that Srijit has offered me.���������
It���������s a season of directors turning actors. Goutam Ghose is returning to facing the camera for Srijit Mukherji���������s second feature film tentatively titled ���������22 E Srabon��������� . Way back in 1982, he had made his acting debut in Buddhadeb Dasgupta���������s ���������Grihajuddha���������. In 1996, he played himself in Lamberto Lambertini���������s ���������Vrindavan Film Studios���������. After 15 years, he will be returning in front of the camera to play a poet.
Says Ghose, ���������I have been approached by various directors to act in their movies. But I had too much of time constraints and, hence, couldn���������t go ahead. While directing , I always have to enact some parts for the actors. So, I am in the business of acting all the time. Srijit had spoken to me about doing a film where Rina (Aparna Sen) and I would be on board. That hasn���������t happened as yet. In Srijit���������s next film, I will be playing a poet of the hungry generation. I have seen such poets from close quarters and can easily relate to this character.��������� Though Ghose is busy with the pre-production of his film titled ���������Lala��������� , he will begin shooting from the end of March. ���������Srijit has been kind enough to reschedule his dates so that I can wrap up my work in 9/10 days. It���������s nice to see young directors doing good work in Tollywood. I am all for giving impetus to them. Besides, Prosenjit had also repeatedly requested me to do this role.��������� The film has Parambrata and Rajesh Sharma playing cops.
Finally, is it difficult for him to maintain a balance between not being tempted enough to show his experience as a director and an actor on the sets of another film-maker ? ���������No, not at all. I am very professional.���������
