National award winning filmmaker
Goutam Ghose whose next Hindi directorial ‘Raahgir’ will have its world premiere at the Busan Film Festival on October 21 has his hands full with some interesting projects.
Among which one is an Indo-Bangladesh film. The most interesting part is it will most likely feature
Prosenjit Chatterjee in the lead. Incidentally, Goutam Ghosh’s last Bengali film ‘Sankhachil’ which won National Award in 2016 also starred Prosenjit in the lead.
“I am planning yet another Indo-Bangladesh venture, which will be in Bengali and will most probably star Prosenjit. Plus, I am currently busy with the pre-production work of an Indo- European trilingual film (English, Hindi and partly Italian) on the adventures of a 12-year-old boy with a socio-political background,” the acclaimed director told us while speaking about his upcoming projects.
He also has a dream project in mind. “I have a dream project of making a historical film on Dara Shikoh, the heir apparent of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, who was killed by Aurangzeb. He was a scholar and was inclined towards a culture of harmony. Had Dara Shikoh been the emperor, the history of our land perhaps would have been different,” said Gautam Ghose.
