After giving hits like ‘Amanush’ and ‘Phande Poria Boga Kande Re’,
Soham Chakraborty and
Srabanti Chatterjee are all set to share the screen in ‘Piya Re’. Directed by Abhimanyu Mukherjee, the romantic drama is the story of a middle-class boy Robi and a slum girl Riya.
While speaking about her character in ‘Piya Re’, Srabanti shared an interesting behind-the-scenes secret from the shoot.
“Throughout the shoot, Abhi da (Abhimanyu Mukherjee) strictly instructed me not to wear any kind of makeup. He even used to come to me before every shot just to check whether I am in the de-glam look. Being an actress, it was quite challenging for me. Shooting an entire film in a no-makeup look is very tough,” revealed the actress.
Srabanti also revealed that there are many similarities between her character ‘Riya’ in ‘Piya Re’ and Srabanti in real life, “I am originally from Behala Parnashri and there was a slum just behind our house during my childhood and I used to play a lot with the kids from that slum. I have seen how these people live in slum areas. So it was nothing difficult for me to portray a slum girl on-screen. Plus, Riya loves to be with children just like me in real life. I feel so close to children.”
Produced by Surinder Films, ‘Piya Re’ is releasing this Friday, July 27.
