This year, Hatibagan Nabin Pally pays homage to the iconic
Theatre Para
of the place. After gaining fame as the
Abol Tabol Para
last year, the club is now bringing the history of Rajkrishna Street’s theatre scene to life. “We wanted to keep the
para
spirit alive," says Tarna Dutta Chowdhury, a member of Nabin Pally, adding, "So, we used the history of Hatibagan’s Theatre Para as our theme, decorating the pandal with posters inspired by the area’s theatrical legacy.”
Unlike last year’s professional actors, this time, the women of the club will perform live theatre in the evenings, portraying legendary figures like Notibinodini, Tripti Mitra, Tara Sundari Devi, and Ketuki Dutta. In the afternoon, they will dress as theatre posters, paying tribute to this rich art form.
