Actress Chitrangada Chakraborty has won the award for The Best Female Actor for Tikli And Laxmi Bomb.

Actress Chitrangada Chakraborty has won the award for The Best Female Actor at the New Jersey India and International Film Festival 2018 for Tikli And Laxmi Bomb directed by author and filmmaker Aditya Kripalani. The film won The Festivals Choice Best Feature Film at the NJIIFF. This will be Chitrangada’s second award for the same film. She previously won The Best Debutante Female at the Jaipur International Film Festival 2018.

The film previously won The Best Feature at the Berlin Independent Film festival and The Best Picture for Gender Equality at the UK Asian Film Festival. “I woke up to the news. I'm overwhelmed! I play Tikli, a sex worker in this film who lands up in Mumbai and starts questioning the system. And I feel it is an important film that should reach out to more people,” said Chitrangada who will be next seen in Ahare Mon.
