Anik Datta-directed ‘Borunbabur Bondhu’ will be screened at the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati. The film, produced by Surinder Films, was running to packed houses in many single screens and multiplexes across West Bengal before the Lockdown started.
“We are happy to know that ‘Borunbabur Bondhu’ is now going to be screened in the Indian Film Festival Of Cincinnati.
The film is full of power-packed performances by some brilliant actors spearheaded by the living legend Soumitra Chattopadhyay that have gained accolades from the critics. The audience response too has been very encouraging. I would like to congratulate everyone associated with the film,” said Nispal Singh, director of Surinder Films.
“I got a mail from Uma Da Cunha, the festival curator on Wednesday stating that the nomination for ‘Borunbabur Bondhu’ has been accepted by its Executive Director. I would like to congratulate each and every member of the team. We got an overwhelming response from the audience here in Kolkata and I hope other audiences would like it too,” said Anik Datta thanking everyone.

Ritwick Chakraborty,
Arpita Chatterjee, Sreelekha Mitra,
Bidipta Chakraborty, Barun Chanda, Alokananda Roy, Debolina Dutta, Chandreyee Ghosh & Samantok Dyuti Mitra amongst others.
National Award winners Avik Mukhopadhyay are Arghyakamal Mitra are the DOP and the editor of the film respectively. Suchismita Dasgupta oversaw designing the costume and Ananda Adhya was the art director while the colourist is Debojyoti Ghosh. The script was jointly penned by Anik Datta and Utsav Mukherjee.
The screening of the movie at Indian Film Festival Of Cincinnati is scheduled to be sometime in October, 2020, the pandemic situation permitting. The movie has already been screened at the 25th Kolkata International Film Festival and at the prestigious Third Eye Asian Film Festival, Mumbai.
