Tollywood filmmakers have always drawn inspiration from real-life incidents. And this time round, director Arup Kumar Dey has joined the fray by announcing his next film, Aguner Pakhi, on the plight of people living on the streets. Starring Rituparna Sengupta, Debshankar Haldar, Kharaj Mukherjee, Indrajeet, Sayani Dutta, Shantilal Mukherjee among others, this film is supposed to be a thriller that also conveys a social message. The director, who had previously directed Sapath, said, We keep reading in newspapers about various accidents on the pavements. And the reasons could be many . Sadly , pedestrians don't bother to take the victims to the hospital. My film focuses on a professor (Debshankar), who gets embroiled in a fire accident case, when he decides to take a burnt victim to the hospital where she dies. Rituparna, who plays a TV journalist, reports the entire incident. The story takes a nasty turn when the professor is forced to sign a statement on the case. I can't reveal more than this at the moment.
The music of this film is scored by Kalyan Sen Barat and the film is ready to go on the floors from January 14.
