Arun Roy plans his next after 'Egaro'
The Egaro directors next will be on those indirectly affected when there is a terror attack.
Arun Roy, whose Egaro won critical acclaim for its subject and execution, is busy planning his next. Post-the success of Egaro, producers approached me for films based on either patriotism or sports.

But, I have no such intention as far as my next is concerned, says the director, adding, A terror attack has far-reaching consequences. It indirectly harms many who might have nothing to do with the attack. My story is about these people. This time around too, Arun intends to have multiple characters and incidents in his as-yetuntitled venture. A news about a blast at Connaught Place in Delhi triggered this thought. The report said that the injured were taken to a hospital barring a Muslim guy. He was brought to the police station instead, for interrogation. His crime was the fact that he was present on the blast site.
Though the incident happened several years ago, the director wants to raise a question. Fingers are always pointed towards the man with a beard. You might know your Muslim neighbour for ages. But, if a cop comes and says that he is behind some terrorist activity, seeds of suspicion are sown. I want my film to be a confession about this fact, adds Arun, who will have Dipannita Ghosh Mukhopadhyay pen the dialogues for the same. My characters are based in Kolkata. But, this problem is universal. Hence, I want to take it up, says Arun.
As for the cast, he intends to work with the Egaro team. But, I am eager to have Rahul on board for one character, the film-maker signs off.
