In 2018, when
Arindam Sil announced his next will be a hardcore thriller starring Bollywood actress Sayani Gupta in the lead it doubled the excitement for all his fans. Sil too was super excited about his initial casting. But then, it went through a major revamp in casting raising a lot of questions. Eventually the film which was supposed to be bankrolled by SVF was shelved after the shoot was called off in early 2019.
The casting change of ‘Khela Jakhon’ came with a huge surprise at that time. Instead of Sayani Gupta,
Mimi Chakraborty was chosen for the female lead Urmi.
Abir Chatterjee who was supposed to play Urmi’s husband allegedly turned down the role which was given to
Anirban Bhattacharya.
Tanushree Chakraborty was also roped in to play a key role in the thriller. Now, according to industry sources, there will be another change in the casting. Anirban might be replaced by
Parambrata Chattopadhyay.
We hear Arindam will start shooting for the film in March or April but this time under the banner of Camellia Productions. Interestingly, Mimi had already started attending workshops prepping for this film particularly and when SVF postponed the project she was a bit sad. However, Arindam has already confirmed he will make this film only with Mimi and we hear the actress has also given her nod.
