After the IFFI screening of Amaar Boss, directors Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, along with veteran actress Raakhee Gulzar, were waiting at Goa airport for their flight to Mumbai. While at a coffee shop, a foreign footballer attempted to pay with a slightly damaged currency note, which the shopkeeper refused to accept.
Raakhee promptly stepped in, examined the note, and asserted, “This is fine. Why won’t you accept it?” When the shopkeeper remained adamant, tensions rose — and then came the comment that changed everything.
The player muttered, “This only happens in India.” Instantly, Raakhee’s demeanor shifted. Fiercely patriotic, she shot back, “How dare you say that? India is my motherland. You’re here to play — learn to respect other countries first!”
