Jaipur: Congress has forfeited the right to be in office due to its failures in addressing crimes against women, recruitment exam paper leaks, and appeasement tactics, defence minister Rajnath Singh said Sunday at a BJP rally in Rajasthan where assembly elections are due on November 25. “I’ve heard that over 2 lakh FIRs have been filed in Rajasthan for crimes against women,” he said and also criticised the alleged leak of exam papers for hiring in government jobs. “If papers were leaked 17 times, it means you’re playing with the future of youths,” he asserted.

Targeting CM Ashok Gehlot of Congress, Singh questioned the state’s progress: “They came on the promise of making a developed and prosperous Rajasthan. Is this how you want to make Rajasthan prosper? People would believe that the kids here cheat on their exams.” Accusing Gehlot of indulging in appeasement politics, Singh said: “In Jaipur, somebody was killed in a road rage case of a particular community, and the government granted him Rs 50 lakh in compensation, a government job, and a dairy booth.” Singh raised concerns about similar cases in other regions and questioned the selectivity in compensation distribution.
