IPFT to back its dummy nominee in Tripura West
AGARTALA
: The Indigenous People's Front ofTripura
(IPFT) will back its dummy candidate from Tripura West after its primary nominee's nomination was cancelled because he holds an office of profit. IPFT is fighting both Tripura seats, disregarding its ally BJP's appeal to not do so.IPL 2025 mega auction
The Tripura West seat goes to the polls in the first phase on April 11. Shukla Charan Noatia, whom IPFT fielded, is the chairperson of Tripura Small Industries Corporation. While he did resign from the post, the resignation was not accepted.
Chief electoral officer Sriram Taranikanti said 13 nominations have been found valid from the Tripura West seat after scrutiny. From the Tripura East constituency, 10 nominations are still valid. The list of candidates, however, will be finalized after March 29.
