Lok Sabha elections in Telangana: TTDP asks cadre to vote for Congress
HYDERABAD: After deciding against contesting the elections, Telangana TDP, on the last day of the campaign, gave a call to the party rank and file to support Congress candidates.
Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, TTDP president L Ramana along with politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said they had decided to back Congress nominees following a request from the grand old party.
Party national general secretary E Peddi Reddy, who was at the press meet, recalled that the ruling TRS had accused YSRC chief Jaganmohan Reddy of being “unfit” to live in Telangana. “Now, its leaders are flocking to his residence and dining with him,” he charged.
Peddi Reddy criticised chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s federal front, saying it defeats the very purpose when he is not in good terms with neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh.
Peddi Reddy also ridiculed KCR for going to former TDP leader Mandava Venkateswara Rao’s residence and asking him to join his party. “He did this only to save his daughter Kavitha who is fighting a tough battle in Nizamabad,” he added.
