Lok Sabha polls: Ticket has been hijacked, says sitting BJP MP in Sagar

BHOPAL: In an open revolt against the party,

sitting BJP MP from Sagar Laxminarayan Yadav

has decided not to campaign for party candidate

in the

Lok Sabha polls

“The party ticket from Sagar has been hijacked by Bhupendra Singh ” alleged Yadav. Bhupendra is former home minister and the party candidate from Sagar is considered close to him. BJP candidate from Sagar is already facing a rebel in the form of Mukesh Jain Dhana, who has been fielded by the local Jain community. Dhana has already filed his nomination papers.

Ever since the name of Rajbahadur Singh has been announced, Laxminarayan Yadav has stopped attending party meetings. Talking to the media, he claimed that the whole Yadav community is upset with the BJP candidate. Several rounds of meetings have been held by the community members and they have decided not to support BJP.

Yadav said , “I am not going to campaign for the Sagar candidate of BJP just because the

ticket has been hijacked

by Bhupendra Singh. I will campaign for other party candidates in the state.”

He said that the Yadav community is angry with the BJP as it has not fielded any good candidate from the community. The one fielded from Guna — KP Yadav — is a ‘bijuka’- a term used in Bundelkhand region for crowscare.

He said that he has failed to understand the criteria for ticket distribution by the party in Sagar. When asked whether there was a Modi wave and BJP candidate could benefit from it, Yadav said, “That doesn’t mean that anyone can win on a BJP ticket.”

The BJP nominee Rajbahadur Singh is a corporater and chairman of the municipal corporation of Sagar.
