BHOPAL: Actor and Congress leader
Shatrughan Sinha
on Thursday accused PM
Narendra Modi of “betraying” the trust of people, who voted him to power overwhelmingly in 2014.
Addressing a public meeting at Bagh Sevaniya in favour of Digvijaya Singh, Sinha said that the language used during campaigning has touched a new low and criticized the prime minister for calling former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi as “corrupt no. 1”.
Attacking Modi for demonetization and GST, Sinha said while demonetization led to closure of small enterprises and consequent unemployment, GST did good to no one, except for the community of chartered accountants because on inherent complexities.
He said when Modi is reminded about promises he had made — promise to give two crore job to youth or return of black money — he doesn’t reply to them and starts talking about
Pulwama attack and air strike.
Referring to Modi’s public meetings, he said that the prime minister of the country seems to have become “publicity minister”.
